) big badger brother! Sorry I could not resist the alliteration on that sentence xD After I sold Bailey I realized that I actually did want to have a badger of my own, so I made Bart. He's quite a bit bigger than Bailey, made on the original size of the pattern (I made Bailey small as a test: if it didn't work out, I wouldn't have lost as much fabric). He's huggable and soft, I really love the way he turned out 
He's approx. 24 cm nose to butt (9 inch) and is tied with my early plush Lin (
) for biggest plushie I've made so far. He's also the first to have needle-felting incorporated in his design (I made him before Kousan the bird!): five claws per fore-paw, they're far from perfect but any big badger needs his claws! Just like with Bailey, I painted the front of his ears black and cut the fur short, except for the rim, so he has a white rim of fluff on his otherwise black ears. I find that comes closest to a real badger's ears. I made the transition between the black of the head stripes and the grey of the body smoother with Copic markers. His nose has two layers of embroidery thread to make it extra round and big. They're such great animals, I couldn't resist making another one! The grizzled grey fur I have would make a really nice badger too, hmmm....

last year i saw real badgers like these for the first time... they live round here...
i also saw martins in this village, which are very common in the whole area round here and once i had the chance to see courting polecats crossing the street in front of our house... i had heard them fussing in the nights before and was wondering which kind of animal could make such fierce noises, haha... they're cute...
i hope you can see them one day, it's a nice experience...
