SOLD Plushie: Coinin the Wolf Teddy by Avanii SOLD Plushie: Coinin the Wolf Teddy by Avanii
Coinin is for sale here: www.etsy.com/nl/listing/185732…; Sold! :D

Ever since I bough the grey curly mohair last year I've wanted to make a wolf out of it. I finally got the chance!

This is Coinin, a young wolf made of beautiful silver curly mohair and super-soft cream alpaca fabrics. He has bright amber glass eyes and needle felted details, such as the nose, mouth, and pawpads. His claws are embroidered on. Coinin has been made by hand with lots of love and care. He is 5-way jointed, which means he can move his limbs and head to allow him to take on different poses. He has some shading on the ears, face, and tail to make him more lifelike. His feet are partially stuffed with special sand to allow him to stand by himself, and he has steel shot in his belly to give him a pleasant weight. Coinin has a somewhat mischievous smile but looks a little insecure when standing up straight due to his feet standing close to each other. He really is a little cutie (his name means 'little wolf', I always give my plushies names with a specific meaning)!

Coinin measures 17 cm (6,7 inch) when seated (ears not included) and 21 cm (8 inch) when standing. Coinin is the second in my new line of Teddies in which Brandon the Bear was the first :D.

Coinin is OOAK which means there will not be a wolf like him again. In the future I will make more wolves, foxes, bears, hares, mice and cats in a similar style! :) I intend to make a darker grey wolf some time, though it will probably not be soon...

Art is to me, Avanii

Please do not use or repost, thank you.

Thank you so much! I didn't keep a close eye on it but generally speaking it takes me between 11 and 20 hours to make a plushie or teddy, the more complex the markings and the bigger the plush, the more hours it takes, of course. It's usually spread out in 2 to 4 weeks, but I remember being very enthusiastic about this one so I spent 2 weeks I think, maybe even slightly less! It jut meant spending more hours per day haha, but yeah I made this one before I got new commissions so I could devote lots of time to him :)

That's pretty fast! You must be very familiar with the process of making them to work this efficiently. :) I was wondering.. Do you live from all of your art or is it just hobby?

Yes, well I have to admit I didn't count the pattern-drawing in that estimation, which can take from an hour to 3 hours if some part is particularly tough to figure out! But by now I have enough experience to have a certain structure to the way I do things that speeds it up a bit :) Hmm, well both actually! While I do not depend on art to supply all the money of food, rent and other bills, selling plushies and doing commissions does provide the money to do a bit more than just surviving, haha! If I sell something I can buy new materials, clothes or go out, and since I don't have another job it is quite important to me :)
