I know I have been quite inactive the past month, alot of private stuff going on and upcoming exams, but I will try to be more active again from now on. Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^
It'll be my first contest that I've held...EVER! So it's very exciting :3

I can say one thing: it was great! every thing went fine, the plane trip (I get sick very easy in a plane) went fine and as soon as we landed in Luton we took a beautiful new purple bus to the train station ( I believe it was to st Pancras). there we took a train and after a half an hour we arrived in London. we took the underground ('tube' isn't it?) and we saw, when we got upstairs, the Big Ben!! awesome! and not far away from the Big Ben we saw London Eye, (you know what it is right?) we went in and man, that thing goes very very high! after that we took the 'tube' to Harrods, a huge department store! and huge it was! very expensive too. we took the tube again and went to Hamleys, a huge toy store! I bought 3 stuffed animal plushies for my collection ^^ a grey spotted seal with brown spots, and two sea lions, a male and a female, all from WWF (I collect WWF plushies

) they're beautiful! then, we went to trafalgar square and we saw a lot of other things which names I forgot. at last we went to covent garden before we left the city to return to the train and go to the airport where I bought the books from 'the Golden Compass' in English

. in the plane we had a beautiful sight of both London and Amsterdam at night with beautiful lights, it was amazing! we had turbulence and it scared me a lot since I don't like flying and this made it worse, but it didn't last very long and the rest of the trip went very simple without any problems or travel sickness

I had an awesome day but now my feet and legs hurt a lot :C we've walked a lot of miles yes, a lot :J

Yes, those are pleasant smells. I used to live up around the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It was absolutely beautiful there. It was surrounded by pine trees and I lived up on a hill. There was a little shop at the bottom, along with the bus stop to school. There were a few other houses, but other than that it was trees trees and more trees. The sunset was sooo gorgeous. I loved it there. Home always smells like home though, and it's always nice to return to.

oohh sounds like a great place! Holland is flat, so no mountains for me here, but I've seen my first mountains last year, the Alps! I loved them, it's wonderful, I was in France back then, I love France too, it's beautiful!
